In an attempt to move away from Meta and other social media apps, I would like to start blogging. Thanks to the Jekyll theme makers for including a blog feature; I wouldn’t have done this otherwise. Unsure the point of this, it feels very public and vulnerable.
I have been thinking of the last six years. Moving to Ngunnawal/Ngambri Country with grand plans to become a software developer after completing my studies, then trying to find ways of reconciling the technical and the creative in various professional roles, and finally finding the confidence to forge a tangible creative practice. Finally graduated with a computing degree only to use it to fuel a cool artistic practice. There have been so many people who have sheparded me through this journey. The growth facilitated by the artists, creatives, and friends that have uplifted me to this point is immeasurable. I would not be here without the love and care of the people around me.
I start my PhD on Monday, attempting to articulate the role of AI in creative co-creation. Whatever that means. I am still working as an educator though. I can’t give up the joy of being an educator no matter how overcommitted I get. I have grown so much through teaching, and it brings me so much joy to connect with students.
This year I am also assisting with leading the Girls’ Programming Network’s Canberra node. Please sign up to tutor if you are a woman or gender diverse, Kamberri/Canberra based and enjoy working with high school students. You don’t have to be technical, tutors are provided with all necessary materials. Sign up here!.
A lot has been happening, I can’t quite articulate everything. My passion for the arts and my passion for technology grows with every news cycle.
